New Mandate Bans Halogen Light Bulbs – What You Need to Know

While a federally mandated phase-out of Halogen light bulbs is underway across the United States, LITETRONICS International, who developed the original LITEPAR™ halogen over 25 years ago, is now introducing the halogen light bulb for the 21st century – LITEPAR Eco.™

LITEPAR Eco is EISA and DOE compliant, which means they surpass the efficiency guidelines now required for manufacturing. The EISA (Energy Independence and Security Act) of 2007, required that starting in 2012, all light bulbs manufactured must meet a minimum energy-efficient rating, typically about 20% higher than traditional halogen bulbs could meet. The result is a gradual phasing-out of many common halogen light bulbs. A year into the program, existing halogen stock is being depleted, and there’s some confusion in the lighting industry as consumers and contractors alike, weigh their options on how to replace the bulbs they have been accustomed to buying.

Halogen LITEPAR Eco™ is the perfect “next step,” for anyone who prefers the look of Halogen to CFL or LED. They use the same halogen technology so they look, perform, and even cost similar to traditional halogen, only they use 30% less energy to operate. Those familiar with LITETRONICS’ original LITE-PAR, will be pleased to know that this next generation offers the same crisp white light, perfect color rendition, and superior lumen maintenance as its predecessors.  LITEPAR Eco™ is available in PAR20, PAR30, PAR30LN and PAR38 sizes as a 28-degree flood bulb. They are available as a 50-watt, 75-watt, 90-watt, or 120-watt equivalent.
