Green Restaurant Lighting Mimics Incandescent Dimming

Litetronics International, Inc. is expanding its selection of green lighting products for restaurants with the addition of the 8-watt dimmable Micro-Brite R20 light bulb that replaces a 45-watt incandescent R20 light bulb. The 8-watt R20 bulb supplements Litetronics’ current offering of 5-watt dimmable R20 Micro-Brite light bulbs to provide restaurants the opportunity to replace more of their incandescent light bulbs in exchange for energy savings and environmental benefits. Unlike standard dimmable CFLs that only dim to about 20% of light output, the Micro-Brite bulb dims down to 5% of its light output. Plus, its smooth dimming control works just like incandescent and operates on existing fixtures and dimmers, so no additional equipment is necessary. This keeps the initial start-up cost of upgrading to energy efficient lighting to a minimum, while maximizing the overall return on investment.

“Many restaurants rely on dimming their light bulbs to create an engaging atmosphere for their customers,” said Bob Sorensen, vice president of marketing of Litetronics. “As restaurant operators look to reduce operating costs and increase sustainability, the 8-watt dimmable Micro-Brite R20 light bulb helps them do both without changing the atmosphere that keeps their customers coming back to the table.”

The 8-watt Micro-Brite dimmable R20 light bulb is the same size and shape as an incandescent R20 light bulb, but it saves up to 85% on energy costs compared to incandescent. Its 18,000-hour life reduces replacement and maintenance costs, and it is backed by a 2-year warranty.
