Retrofit Upgrade Helps Kentucky Hospital Shave Energy Costs By $30,000

Located in Corbin, KY, Baptist Health Associates is a 273-bed acute and skilled healthcare facility which provides a range of leading-edge services for the treatment of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and a variety of other chronic ailments. To do that most effectively and comfortably for patients, staff, and visitors alike, the hospital recently undertook a successful lighting upgrade involving easy-to-install LED Retrofit Kits from Litetronics, which improved lighting quality while significantly reducing energy consumption and costs. Previously using a system of 3-lamp, 32-Watt T8 fluorescent fixtures with electronic ballasts that consumed 110 watts per fixture to light the hospital, the facility opted for Litetronics’ high-performing LED Retrofit Kits, a configuration which easily upgrades an existing fluorescent system to long-life, energy-saving LED technology in mere minutes. “Our installation team consisted of one electrician and one helper and we were able to install all of the hospital’s 675 fixtures with Litetronics’ 50-Watt LED Retrofit Kits in less time than expected,” shared Tony Wagner, owner of Louisville, KY-based electrical contracting firm Wagner Electric, of the simplicity and ease with which they were able to upgrade the facility’s fluorescent lighting to powerful LED technology. Litetronics’ industry-leading LED Retrofit Kits upgrade a standard fluorescent troffer to powerful, longlasting, and highly-efficient LED technology in as little as 3 minutes, converting an existing fluorescent fixture to energy saving LED technology lasting up to 20 years in less than the time needed to change the former ballast. Based on the facility’s 8,730 annual hours of operation and the availability of over $20,000 in product rebates from the local utility which helped to offset project costs, “this project reduced the hospital’s energy bills by nearly $30,000 a year and will pay itself back in just 2.5 years,” raved Wagner, who highly recommends Litetronics’ easy-to-use LED Retrofit Kits for any institution looking to enjoy the energy-saving, long-lasting, low-maintenance, and highly-sustainable benefits of LED technology.
