CFLs That Are Safe to Use Outdoors

Many companies are challenged to find an energy efficient light bulb that can replace halogen bulbs in outdoor applications. Litetronics International now offers a variety of Spiral-PAR compact fluorescent light bulbs that save up to 80% on energy costs and are UL certified for use in wet locations. Whereas the standard UL certification tests light bulbs for safety standards against electrical shocks and fires, light bulbs that pass the water spray test demonstrate that they will not create these hazards when exposed to water and earn the UL certification for use in wet locations. This enables end users to safely install these Spiral-PAR light bulbs in outdoor applications that are exposed to rain, sleet, and snow and still reap the benefits of lower electrical bills and fewer bulb replacements.

Among the UL wet location certified Spiral-PAR bulbs are 9-watt PAR20 CFLs that replace 35-watt halogen bulbs, 15-watt PAR30 CFLs that replace 50-watt halogen bulbs, and 23-watt PAR38 CFLs that replace 90-watt halogen bulbs. All of these bulbs are Energy Star qualified and have a long 8,000-hour life that saves money on maintenance and replacement costs.

“Every day, more end users are looking to switch to energy efficient bulbs to cut down on energy costs and improve the environment,” said Bob Sorensen, vice president of marketing of Litetronics. “Litetronics saw an opportunity to make it easy for end users to find a retrofit solution that will save energy, while withstanding the weather conditions of outdoor applications, and designed new models of Spiral-PAR bulbs that allow end users the versatility of using them indoors or outdoors.”

Spiral-PAR light bulbs are available in 2700K (warm white), 3500K (bright white), and 4100K (cool white), so you can customize your lighting design. They even come with a 1-year warranty.
